Covid Vaccine Update

Dear Patients,

We are all delighted by how well the Covid vaccination programme is going and we look forward to this improving the quality of life for all of us as the Roadmap Out of Lockdown begins.

If you are 50 or over please do book an appointment for your vaccine as soon as you can:
• Phone on 119
There will be fewer first vaccines delivered in April, although second vaccines will be given. Plans to vaccinate patients under 50 have not yet started. We expect vaccine deliveries to increase again in May.

We will be taking this opportunity in April to start looking at:
• how we can get back to a normal routine of consulting with patients
• which screening areas we need to prioritise
• how we can do this in a Covid safe way

Thank you for your patience as we all work through these changes, and do look after yourselves by attending all your appointments including those for immunisations and screening.

Thank you.

Children & Coronavirus

At this challenging time, it is extremely important for you to know that COVID-19 is unlikely to make your child unwell, but they like everyone else might be infectious so staying at home when well remains the message. However, all the ‘normal’ illnesses that can make children severely unwell still remain and there is a major risk that parents may delay bringing their child to the attention of a healthcare professionals even if they are unwell because of concerns about COVID-19.

GPs and hospitals are still providing the same safe care that they have always done for children .

If you are not sure if your child is unwell and whether they need to be seen, click here, call 111 or contact your GP. For information about crying babies, click here. If your child appears severely unwell and advice is not quickly available call 999 or take them to ED as you would in other times.

Dispensary Update

During this pandemic a home delivery service will be provided to our dispensing patients who housebound.

For more information please call the surgery and ask to speak to the dispensary.

 Online/Internet Pharmacies

To all our patients who have nominated an online or Internet pharmacy. We advise that you order your repeat prescription yourself rather than relying on a third party to do this. Due to the current demand on their services sometimes the requests are not coming through to us and therefore your prescription is not being processed and sent to your nominated pharmacy.

Calling all Dispensing Patients – Your Dispensary Needs You

The profits from our Dispensary help fund vital services at the Practice including additional phlebotomy appointments, additional clinical staff and free dosette boxes.

If you are eligible to use the Dispensary we ask you bear this in mind when making the decision as to where you collect your prescriptions from. Unfortunately, due to NHSE rules we are restricted in who we can dispense medication to. To check that you live more than a mile from a pharmacy please see the NHS choices website. For more advice or information please contact the dispensary team.

Without your demand we wouldn’t be able to keep the Dispensary open and every time you use us you are helping to keep the additional services above running.

Thank you for your support
